Federico Bertoglio

Federico Bertoglio was awarded a master degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics cum laude (Laurea Magistralis held in English) in 2015 from University of Pavia (Ita). He won two Erasmus Traineeship fellowship (2015-2016) and a fellowship from Interdepartemental Research Centre MADE (University of Pavia, 2016) to work at Technische Universität Braunschweig (Ger) in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. M. Hust to learn antibody phage display technique. In 2016, he was admitted to the PhD school in Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnologies at School of Advanced Studies IUSS, Pavia (Ita). He spent three months in Prof. Dr. M.Höök laboratory, IBT, Texas A&M Health Science Centre, Houston, TX (USA) in 2017.
He works on antibodies specific for Staphylococcus aureus surface proteins. Besides general biochemistry, molecular biology and antibody selection techniques, he gained experience in testing antibacterial activity and cytocompatibility of bio- and nanomaterials. From 2016, he continuosly helds tutoring classes for undergraduate medical students in General Chemistry and Biochemistry (SSD BIO10).
