Nora Bloise
Nora Bloise received her degree “cum laude” in Medical Biotechnology in 2009 from the University of Firenze. Shortly after she joined the Visai group as research fellow, investigating the molecular interaction biophysical factors and human stem cells for bone tissue engineering purposes. In 2015, she obtained the PhD in Biomedical Sciences from University of Pavia, spending a 9-months training research period at the laboratories of Stem Cell Institute (SCIL) of KU Leuven working in the laboratory driven by Prof. M. Sampaolesi, and thanks to the support of the “International Mobility Project AA 2013/2014” of Pavia University (UNIPV). Since 2015, she has been post-doc researcher at the Department of Molecular Medicine of UNIPV. Currently, she is an Adjunct professor in Biochemistry (SSD BIO10) for Bioengineering degree, teaching Assistant (from 2016-) and tutor (from 2010-) for undergraduate student in General Chemistry and Biochemistry (SSD BIO10), and co-supervisor of numerous bachelor and master-degree theses at the University of Pavia. For three consecutive years (2017-2018-2019) she won the post-doctoral grant of Umberto Veronesi Foundation for young researchers. Her research activity is also supported by the crowdfunding platform “Universitiamo” of UNIPV (link). She is actively involved in public outreach and research dissemination projects. Her present research interests mainly focus on nanomedicine for cancer therapy and tissue regeneration, studying the interaction of gold nanoparticles with different types of breast cancer cell lines and nanomaterials and biophysical cues with stem cells/primary culture/cells lines.
